We offer a safe and family-like environment in which to come to Uganda and give your time. We offer pre-arrival support by answering your questions about Uganda (Mukono) and by finding a project that best fits your skills and interests. We can also connect you to former and current volunteers working with us. We offer in-country assistance by collecting you from the airport, getting you to your placement, and unravelling some of the more complicated cultural issues you face when entering Uganda for the first time. It is not easy to come to a completely foreign culture on your own. We want to be there to give you encouragement, advice, and support in order for you to be most effective while you are here
I (Isaac) and Scovia extend a warm welcome to you. We have a holiday centre with accommodation for groups of 4-8 people, Ideal for holiday, social work activities and study base. We are a comfortable Ugandan family home in Mukono district, 5 minutes walk from town. Really good home, cooking and caring hospitality, well arranged rooms, a sitting room with T.V and Computer for use. Our (Light Guest House) is a family run guest house positioned on the outcast of Mukono town yet near shops. Spacious rooms and delicious varied home baking. Special diets catered for, Tea and Coffee making and en-suite facilities. Open all year round, suits all ages, for tourists and volunteers. It’s a family environment.

Beacon of Hope Uganda is a small NGO authorized by the Uganda government to carry out charitable activities amongst rural areas of the country. All our projects aspire to contribute to the welfare and social productivity of disadvantaged children and youths throughout Uganda. Established by Isaac Ssamba in 2006 Beacon of Hope Uganda has successfully provided schooling for hundreds of orphans and disadvantaged youths in the Mukono region. We now look to establish greater services by applying sustainable economic practices in order to raise funds to pay for education for disadvantaged youths.
The Beacon of Hope Educational Centre:
1. Promotes Child development and literacy.
2. We are aggressive in establishing preventive educational programs on AIDS and other deadly diseases.
3. We help create sustainable livelihoods for youths unable to afford education
We emphasize on training and counseling for the children, youth, widows, and orphaned peoples affected by HIV/AIDS
